2017 Tarot Forecast!

2017 is almost here and I’ve been looking forward to doing my annual New Years Tarot reading!

Now is the perfect time to figure out what things you want to do in 2017 – where do you want to go? What do you want to create? What do you want to STOP doing? What new things do you want to try?

I love working with this planner around this time of year because it helps me get things in perspective.

I’ve created a brand new New Years Tarot Spread for this year and I’ve included it at the bottom of this post so you can try it out for yourself. Enjoy…

Tarot Reading for Nov 2 – 8

I did this Tarot reading on Halloween night….so there’s quite a bit of firework action in the background! I apologize for the really dim lighting – I normally do my reading videos in the day, but for some crazy reason I left it till the last minute!

For this reading, I am using the gorgeous Druidcraft Tarot….

Have a great week!

Delight in destruction!

VeronicaVeronica is my evil twin and Tarot reading queen! Each Friday she gets to share her cheeky wisdom on my blog. Let’s see what depraved insights she has about The Tower…

the tower 2
Druidcraft Tarot

Remember when you were a kid and you’d spend all day making a sandcastle, just so you could watch the tide come in and destroy it?

Life is kind of like that, but now that you’re all grown up, you get attached to your creations and throw a shit fit when things start to crumble and collapse….but you could be squealling with evil glee, if you wanted to!

Job losses, marriage breakdowns, the appearance of wrinkles and greying hair – all these things can be met with wild delight, if you’re in the right frame of mind.

So….are you getting upset about something merely because you think that’s the response you’re supposed to have?

Maybe those horrible events don’t have to cause you suffering after all?

Another way to see this card is to see it as an exploding, fiery phallus, with little people being spewed out the top. Either way, I think The Tower is a real gem of a card 😉

Tarot Challenge: Interpret This Reading!

Ready to practice your Tarot reading skills?

It’s been a while since I presented you with a new Tarot challenge, so I decided to make this one extra tough…..by using only Court Cards!

First I will present you with a fabricated scenario:

You are doing a reading for Stephen – a middle aged man who works stocking vending machines in government buildings. Stephen has been divorced two years, has two teenaged daughters who hate him (he sees them every other weekend) and a Chihuahua with a bladder control problem.

Despite this dreary description of Stephen’s life, he is actually quite happy and content. He is coming to you for a reading because he’s just met someone new – Larissa – a new-agey maven who runs the local crystal shop.

They’ve been on a few hot and heavy dates and now Larissa wants him to come to Sedona with her for a Shamanic drumming weekend. He is reluctant. He hates that shit! But he doesn’t want to upset Larissa. What should he do?

You shuffle your cards, lay them out and turn them over. This is what comes up…..

Remember: Court cards can represent people and/or personality traits. They can suggest how to act (or how not to act). Notice the facial expressions, body language and action in these cards.

You are not using a particular spread, so feel free to interpret the cards however you like.

So….what advice would you give Stephen, based on these three cards?

Please post your interpretation/reading in the comments below. This challenge is open to ALL levels of readers – so don’t by shy if your a beginner!…I can’t wait to hear what you come up with 🙂

Tarot Reading for 2014: A Peek at the Upcoming Year

I will be posting the Tarot spread that I used in this reading on Tuesday, so you will be able to do your own readings if you wish!

Moving into the New Year, I will no longer be doing my daily tarot readings. I have been doing them for about a year and a half and I now feel like I want to put more time into writing weekly blog posts, making more how-to videos, etc. So I will still be doing my weekly videos, Veronica will still do her Friday readings and I will be creating more fun articles, spreads, etc.

I want to say THANK YOU so much to you for reading my daily blog – I feel truly lucky to have your attention and interest and I look forward to creating helpful and fun articles and other things for you to enjoy!

Happy New Year ~ may 2014 be one of your best years yet 🙂

xoxo

My Top 5 Tarot Decks!

Since I love, love, love making lists and coming up with my top 5 movies, top 5 books, etc, I thought it would be fun to list my top 5 Tarot decks. Keep in mind this is the top 5 Tarot decks amongst the Tarot decks I own and not all Tarot decks in existence! So of course, my top 5 Tarot decks list is a little biased. But if I could only keep five of my Tarot decks (god forbid!) these are the ones I’d grab:

1) Crystal Visions Tarot

Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso

I just can’t get enough of this magical, girly, touchy-feely Tarot deck! I love everything about it – except the white borders, which I hacked off with a paper cutter. At first glance you may think oh, this is another once of those wimpy, fluffy, bullshit decks…but no! It’s not. It’s totally awesome in so many ways.

I go on and on about how great the Crystal Visions Tarot deck is right here, so I will keep it short here. This deck never disappoints me. I always feel comforted and supported when I do a reading with these cards – its kind of like talking with a really wise friend who knows me well, is totally honest, but never a bitch.

The colours are delicious, the energy is divine – and I have never had an “off” reading with this deck yet! This is my go-to deck when I am all in a flap about something.

2) Osho Zen Tarot

osho-zen-tarot
Osho Zen Tarot by Ma Deva Padma

The Osho Zen Tarot is one bad-ass deck! I love it because it puts a whole new spin on the traditional Tarot cards. Its new-agey and “spiritual” – but not in a cheesy way. I feel like these cards were really designed for contemplation, not fortune telling.

Most importantly, these cards feel sublime when you shuffle them, which is a trait few Tarot decks possess, quite sadly. I love the way these cards pull me back into the present moment, into my center, so I am not spazzing out over life.

Reading with the Osho Zen deck is like sitting down with a really good therapist…..almost! Hop over here to read my full review on this deck.

3) Druidcraft Tarot

druidcraft-tarot
The Druidcraft Tarot by Stephanie Carr-Gomm and Will Worthington

The Druidcraft Tarot is a delightfully witchy deck with a distinct pagan feel. For some reason this deck reminds me of Fall, my favorite time of year, when its crispy and smoky outside and almost Halloween.

The cards are kind of big, which makes shuffling a pain in the ass, but the beauty of the cards makes up for this. I don’t really use this deck much, but I bring it out on special occasions and to give myself important readings.

This is a very earthy deck and the people in it are kind of fugly, which huge feet and beer guts and stuff like that. Overall, the cards have such an old, wise feel to them, making this an extra-special deck.

Go here to see how I interpreted some of the cards from this deck 🙂

4) Anna K Tarot

anna-k-tarot
Anna K Tarot

I really like this deck. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly that I like so much, but these cards just have a nice feel to them – a good energy. Plus, the cards themselves are slightly shorter than most of my decks, which makes shuffling really easy. Bonus!

This deck does something odd – it seems to personally attune to each person I am reading for and when I read for myself it has been spookily accurate! I am still getting to know this deck, but I can easily say that it one of my faves.

You can see all the readings I have done with this deck right here.

5) Morgan-Greer Tarot

morgan-greer-tarot
Morgan-Greer Tarot by Bill Greer

This deck is a total classic and a must-have for any serious Tarot deck hoarder! Despite the fact that this is a more recent addition to my collection, it feels like I have been reading with these cards for decades.

The Morgan-Greer Tarot is a product of the 70’s (first published in 1979) which is apparent in the appearance of the “pornstache” on many of the men. Fun stuff!

The best thing about this Tarot deck is that THERE ARE NO BORDERS on the cards! I can’t stand annoying borders – I love it when the image comes right to the edge of the card.

*So now I want to know….what are YOUR favorite Tarot decks? What is your go-to deck that never fails you? Tell me in the comment section below!

Eight of Swords – See Your Problems as a Game (Tuesday)

eight of swords
Druidcraft Tarot

The Eight of Swords comes today to remind you of why you create “problems” in your life.

From the perspective of your Higher Self, you create problems so you can learn to heal and create change for yourself. In other words, your problems and challenges exist to help you become skilled at creating peace and joy for yourself.

Think of your “problems” as a game and get creative thinking of different ways you might shift things. The woman in this card is here by her own accord – no one put her there and no one will rescue her – it is up to her to untie herself and lift her blindfold.

Once you see your problems as something that is self created, you are free to have fun with them – this sounds a bit “out there”, I know! But looking at your life in this way can create a sense of peace and freedom.

There is a difference between contemplation and procrastination. So are you processing things or are you stuck? The Seven of Cups Tarot card suggest you might be stuck!

So many choices, so many different paths you can take, but don’t spend forever in that glazed over, spaced out state of overwhelm and indecision. Take action!

Six of Swords Tarot Card for Thursday

druidcraft tarot six of swords
The Druidcraft Tarot by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm and artist Will Worthington

The Six of Swords Tarot card brings you the message that you will be safe and supported when you decide its time to move on and step out into the unknown.

If you have been considering making a move or making a change in your life, the Six of Swords Tarot card is a good omen. However, it does warn you to be weary of the “grass is greener on the other side” mentality and that wherever you go, you take yourself with you!

But the main message with the Six of Swords Tarot card is that you have more support than you realize. This refers to strangers who lend a helping hand, family and friends who are there for you and spirit guides and angels helping you from the other side. You don’t have to do it all alone.

If you are planning a trip, you can be rest assured that it will be safe and enjoyable and that help and guidance will arrive when you need it.
