Sirian Starseed Tarot Review

The Sirian Starseed Tarot was created by author Patricia Cori and artist Alysa Bartha. This deck was published by North Atlantic Books in September 2012. It is a 78 card deck, based on the traditional Tarot imagery and symbolism of the Rider Waite Smith deck, but with a unique, starseed twist!

The deck comes with a little companion book, which is slightly larger than your average LWB (little white book), which has the card meanings, some good info about Tarot reading and a special Sirian Starseed Tarot spread.

Likes:

  • Great, big cards you can get lost in
  • Beautiful artwork with a starry, celestial theme
  • Nice blend of traditional Tarot symbolism with new images

Dislikes:

  • Cards can be tough to shuffle (due to large size)
  • Book lacks Court card descriptions
  • Swords are replaced with Orbs (easy to confuse with Pentacles!)

The first thing I noticed about this deck as I took it out of the box was how big, glossy and beautiful it was. The cards felt sturdy and dependable, making me feel like I could really trust this deck.

The Sirian Starseed Tarot is based on traditional Tarot imagery, but it is certainly not another Rider-Waite clone. Patricia Cori has made many departures from the usual Tarot deck format by renaming the fours suits, the Court cards and some of the Major Arcana cards.

The Sirian Starseed Tarot’s version of the Queen of Wands

Minor Arcana
Swords = Orbs
Cups = Chalices
Wands = Flames
Pentacles = Crystals

Court Cards
King = Master
Queen = Sage
Knight = Adept
Page = Seeker

Many of the Major Arcana cards have also been renamed – for example, The Fool is Starseed and Death is Transition.

What is a starseed? Patricia Cori explains this in the little book that comes with the deck. Basically, a Starseed is someone who believes that their soul comes from another planet or galaxy and that they have incarnated here to help the Earth/humanity in some way.

If you want to have a better understanding of the “big picture”, the Sirian Starseed Tarot is for you. This deck is great for doing readings about your soul purpose and soul journey as the cards seems to assume a wider lens than most other decks.

When I do readings for myself with the Sirian Starseed Tarot, I always feel called to ask about the deeper significance of a certain event or issue and how it relates to my soul’s path.

The Sirian Starseed Tarot is a wonderful deck to have as your special, private deck. If you do readings for others, you may feel the urge to keep this one all to yourself! So far, I haven’t used this deck with clients, but I am sure it will make for some enlightening readings.

The Sirian Starseed Tarot is probably not the best deck for absolute beginners, but if the images and Starseed concept are appealing to you, don’t let your lack of Tarot experience stop you from working with this incredible deck.

Buy this deck if…

  • You want a Tarot deck that will accurately answer questions about your souls path and life purpose
  • You want a deck that is truly different (and much larger!) than your other Tarot decks
  • You are really into Starseeds, channeling and other New Age things

  1. I love these cards, I bought them recently after finding out i’m a Sirian Starseed. I was worried because I have small hands and shuffling them might would be a challenge!
    However, this is my favourite deck now, I immediately felt a connection to these cards and have had very accurate readings since using them. The artwork is beautiful too.
    I absolutely love this deck and i’m so happy I bought them.

  2. Merci pour cette magnifique présentation du Sirian Starseed Tarot !!… je souhaiterai savoir si le “livret explicatif” possède une traduction en français (je ne comprends pas bien l’anglais)… MERCI pour votre Magie !!

  3. How do I choose a card? Do I turn them over and just choose one or multiple cards. I’m new to tarot card reading. Please help

    1. Hi Carol,
      So nice to hear you’re having great experiences with Patricia’s Starseed deck! I have read a couple of her books – one that I got from the library (don’t remember the name) and then I have her book about dolphins and whales. I enjoyed parts of it but then I found it kind of made me sad, so I put it down, but I do plan on picking it up again at some point – when I’m feeling less sensitive!
      Cheers,
      Kate

  5. I purchased the Sirian Starseed Tarot about 12 months ago now and can honestly say that I have had the most accurate and informational readings I could imagine they are very sacred to me and I use them as a personal deck only……I am very connected to the Sirians and know they are my brothers/sisters I look forward to investigating more of your site Love and light

  6. As someone who has a close connection to Sirius, with it popping up in my life in the most extraordinary ways. At the time and date I was born Sirius was at it’s highest point in the sky and my first car was a Diahatsu Sirion just to name two. I have been considering getting this deck for my self. Thank you so much for your review.

  7. I’m totally new to Tarot, and was looking for a way to expand my own intuition by doing self readings. After reading your review and seeing your video I bought this set rather than a more traditional Rider-Waite set. I just love it. I felt the energy coming off it immediately, and held each card in my hands (I’m a healer) one by one, doing a “cold” tune in prior to reading Patricia Cori’s own excellent guide, and low and behold, with the exception of a couple of the Minor Arcana I found them really easy to understand. They are so clear, yet leave plenty of room for your own intuition.
    Thank you so much Kate for your wonderful web site. I am slowly going through it and learning so much. I love your very spiritual approach, and your emphasis on meditation – best thing I ever learnt. Have you thought of writing your own book?

    1. Hi Caroline,

      It’s good to hear you are learning lots from my site – thank you for letting me know 🙂
      And YES, I have thought about writing my own book. In fact, I just got a really great idea for one yesterday!

      1. So there’s the confirmation you need dear heart. May the angels, spirits and guides be with you in creating a beautiful new work.
