Dealing with Drama: the Ten of Swords Shows You How (Tuesday)

ten of swords
Crystal Visions Tarot

The Ten of Swords….such a dramatic Tarot card! Perhaps too dramatic. Are you making a big kerfuffle over something minor? Or are you having to deal with a drama queen in your life?

When you look at this card, do you relate to the girl with ten swords stuck in her back (victim) or the crow that is calmly observing this shit show from a distance?

If you identify with the crow, the message is to “keep calm and carry on” even if people in your life are flamboyantly floundering. Its not your problem – I know that sounds cold, but it isn’t really. Its tough love.

If you identify with sword girl, take heart that things are not so bad. There light hovering over the girl is her guardian angel and it is a reminder that we are never alone. No matter what.

  1. Hello Kate,
Oh my how this card relates to me right now! A very recent flare up of family drama leaves me feeling like the girl with the swords in her back at the moment. Ugh. I’m trusting that something good is still ahead and that this too shall pass!

Hanging in there is always the hardest part I think.

    Thanks for this message,

    Mel 🙂

    1. That sucks, Mel – family drama is never fun. Hopefully things clear up for you soon. Sending you good vibes 🙂
      Hugs,
      Kate

  2. Great take, Kate, on a tough card!

I got The Empress again last night–twice running–and I think she’s trying to give me a way to avoid the Ten of Swords dramas I tend to indulge myself in. I believe she wants me to work on self-nurturing as an alternative approach.

Ah, to be the crow …

    Happy (-ish) Tuesday,

    1. I have also been the getting The Empress in all my readings! For me I think it has to do with creativity and creating the Tarot course I am working on. But yes, I think we all wish we were the crow in that card!

  3. I identify with the sword girl due to a worst migraine ever. So I am in bed sick and in pain. Thinking the only cure would be guillotine. Maybe i can ask my guardian angels to help.

Hi Kate, like this! Almost as if one’s spirit guide is saying ” get over yourself and get a life.”
    Thank you.

    1. LOL! yes, totally! Sometimes this card comes up when we are falling in love with our problems and are almost a little too attached to them because they make us feel important in some weird way.

  5. Wow, this morning I pulled cards to see how my day was going to be. First two cards, (morning and afternoon) were great cards. Last card (evening) I pulled the ten of swords! I knew exactly what that card was for. when I received your email, it confirmed what I already knew. Thanks!

  6. I have to admit…I haven’t had the patience to deal with the drama queens anymore. I gave advice when they asked, lend an ear, tried to motivate them, but they just sucked the energy right out of me. So I let go of the toxic friendship and now life for me is so much more peaceful. (Hense the wholesome guilty pleasures 😉 ) Hopefully now my life will kick back into motion and I hope this card for today doesn’t mean I’ll hear from one of them today. Lol!

    1. Hope not Erica.lol..
I too was in your situation and had to get rid of a few toxic energies. Unfortunately, now I’m alone most of the time.
I guess this proves either of 2 things.
1 – I need to become a better of judge of people
or 2 – we have an abundance of “drama queens” in my area

      1. Dear Erica and Tara–

OMG! I am so sympathetic to you guys. But what’s awful, is that I am sometimes the drama queen in my relationships. I know when I’m doing it–and I do go all Ten of Swords. Everything is a big deal and I require way too much maintenance. I get so hooked into my own crap, that I feel sort of desperate, and then I drag anyone who’s willing in along with me.

It’s good for me to hear about it from the other side. Since you’re not talking about ME (you’re not, right?!?!), it’s easier to hear.

So thanks for this. And I swear, I’m working on it!

        1. Tara- I took feel alone! But I look at it as peaceful. We’ll find new friends that appreciate us and vise versa! 🙂

Jaime- LMAO!! Of course I wasn’t! We all have a little drama queen in us. At times she’s fun and funny and other times just overbaring! Lol! Hey I gave mine a knick-name so you can just imagine! Haven’t seen her in a while…maybe she was let go of when I let go of the negative frienemies. 🙂

          1. Erica!

That is so funny! (And I’m trying to imagine the nickname.)

I guess you’re right. It gets all of us on some days … Thanks for the humor about it.

    2. Erica, I remember a time in my life when I was just finished high school and I woke up one day and realized that all my friends were total jerks. I stopped hanging out with them and then found myself with no friends at all for quite some time. I gradually made new friends over the next several years and now I am happy to say that all my friends are wonderful, drama-free and low maintence. But I have completely stopped giving advice to people since no one ever takes it anyway!
