The Heirophant ~ Tarot Card for Tuesday!

No, you don’t need a degree! Part of you thinks that if some authoritative “governing body” issues you a certificate then you will have permission to do what you really want to. That’s just not true.

Do you feel tempted to keep signing up for courses and programs? There is nothing wrong with being a life long learner, but do it out of sheer interest and not out of a sense of lack.

You already have everything you need to succeed.

What is needed is presence. If you can be present in all you do, and give things your full attention, you will contribute to this world in profound ways.

  1. It seems like this reading really struck a chord with many of you! I am enjoying reading all these comments 🙂

  2. Really nice take on The Hierophant. I love the idea of giving myself a freakin’ certificate! At least, that’s how I heard what you just said.

Seriously, this topic fits nicely with thoughts I’ve been having about how I do things in my professional life that are a bit different than the way I see others do things. I’m shifting to affirming myself, my own way of proceeding–even though, in the face of others’ “authority,” it’s a little scary!

  3. This is EXACTLY what I needed to hear today! Thank you so much for this message Kate. Breathing and grounding 🙂

  4. I may add that sometimes it is not education but validation. Asking again and again the same question; getting the same answer; and i am not ready yet popping up, prompted by fear of trying. Ingrained in us by old recurring stories, or by the system.

In her very powerful–but how else could it be–Halloween reading Veronica admonished to break with past ideas.

Last night I was sitting with someone in the process of crossing, and suddenly, clearly new powerful ideas came forth.

Normally, I would have spent days “polishing” them. A euphemism for eternal editing, my version of more learning.

    Thanks for bringing clarity.

  5. Hi Kate,
strangely enough this is the card I drew for myself today and am trying to work out where it fits in right now. I’m hoping it is that “presence ” you talk about and my aim to be as authentic as possible.

    As always, thanks for sharing.
    Best wishes.

  6. It’s pity that no one will hire you without a degree or that you cannot practice as a trustworthy “something, whatever” without a certificate
When you’re educating yourself for private reason, hobbies interests, than you can live without that piece of paper. that’s the situation here in Holland 🙂
