    Hi Kate:)

    I have never thought about ‘The ten of pentacles’ from The Hanson-Roberts deck as a type of “prostitusion”-card. I think it’s very interesting the way you interprete it, and I had a kind of an aha-moment there 🙂

    Is it just this ‘ten of pentacles’-card you feel that about, or is it every ten-of-pentacles from every tarot deck? Should I have that in mind next time I draw this card?

      Hi Maria,
      I get this feeling with most 10 of Pentacles cards – especially the Rider Waite deck!
      I feel it represents having to wear a mask in order to succeed financially – like how you might need to act when your in the business world, or how you need to behave when you are in a customer service type job – you can’t really be yourself and express how you feel, you need to be polite and calm or else you will probably lose your job. In a way this is prostitution – we are selling ourselves in some form or another and being inauthentic in the process – in the same way a prostitute might fake arousal and interest in her client. This is the dark side of the Ten of Pentacles – so you don’t always have to see it that way – this interpretation probably won’t apply to most readings. The bright side of this card is “success in business and money”.
