Veronica needs you!

Veronica Noir is my evil Tarot reading twin. Man-eater by night, day drinker by day, Tarot reader on Fridays. She’s hear to ejaculate some spice and deviousness into your life!

I’m going to be straight up with you. I’m burnt out. I’m exhausted. I’m all out of bitchy things to say.

Today I drew a card and all I could think was I need a fucking nap.

So I’m going to turn it over to you, Tarot reading star!

When you look at The Devil, what do you see? What advice do you have for me…and for anyone else reading this post?

Please share your advice in the comments below!

  1. She is thinking to herself “what does a girl have to do around here to get laid?” And she sits down by the tree to eat some apples while she thinks about this. She needs some excitement, to feel alive! She has a vague feeling she is being watched, given the tingles on her skin. However, she knows no man will step forth because she knows how hard it is to find a real man that can satisfy her, and most just stay in the shadows like boy lurkers. “Maybe it’s time to leave this planet…” she thinks.

  2. For me, this card says what is worth pursuing and what is holding you back? The Devil may traditionally indicate an addiction or what holds you back, but looking at this card, I think it asks you to evaluate your priorities.

  3. Every single thing throws shade on a sunny afternoon.

Good darn thing too so we actually see what’s what and what’s where.

It’s great if everything really is all sunshine and unicorns, but if you ignore the shadows and stay only in the sun, brains could bake. As much as we might want to focus on all the goodness and light, you can’t deny the dark spots. The best intentions can lead to big mistakes, and problems still happen. And if you are going to solve those problems, you can’t only look at rainbows and unicorns. Solving problems is gnarly work, like it or not. The first step in soliving a problem is admitting it exists. Long story short – denial is bad.

You don’t see the devil (or Veronica) denying stuff. If she needs a nap, or a martini, or a manipedi then she by dammit admits it and gets what she needs. Some goodie-two-shoes might judge that kind of thing to be devilish, but if we stroll through that superficially dark side, Veronica gets a nap, we get insightful, well-rested posts later on, and the greater good is ulimately served.

If she were here, my guess is that Veronica would not deny the shadow side of life… she’d sit in it with an icy cool cocktail and deal, not deny.

    Or take that nap.

  4. This is my second go.I base this card on the temptation of Eve in the garden of Eden.

My interpretation would be to question who is actually the devil in the detail here. Just who is influencing whom the most?

Those sultry eyes and that slinky pose are sending out a message all right, so maybe that tempting situation has come about unexpectedly, and possibly it isn’t what you expected at first? Is it making you uncomfortable, forcing you to reassess areas in your life you felt were pretty solid?

So, are you going to look behind you? Or, are you going to keep on playing a tune on your pipes? Who is the figure who means most to you right now?

I have to admit I see a strong resemblance to Veronica here, and I think the cute guy playing the Pan pipes is in a bit of trouble!

  6. Sometimes being an addiction, or being addicted, IS fucking exhausting: it’s putting all your roadblocks into one high-maintenance form, and that wears your a$$ right down. Enjoy the nap!

  7. “When you doubt your personal power, just remember that you can always strip yourself naked, fire up the web-cam, and enjoy a hungry audience of voyeurs who want to see what you’ve got to offer. Think you’re unattractive? Doubting your self-worth? Go ahead – just let the camera hit yah where the good lord split yah, and you’ll discover that you still have the power to make people LOOK.”

  8. What I see Veronica is basically temptation,Also, from the more conventional decks,I feel that THE DEVIL could represent that which has influence in our lives,be it something or someone, that someone being represented by the image of the devil.

  9. This is my first time interpreting any type of card, so please bear with me. When I looked at the card, I noticed the woman who was sitting in the tree with an apple in her hand. At first, I thought she may have been lazing about as if it was a Sunday afternoon and then I noticed the figure in the background. The figure in the background seemed to be calling out to her, tempting her to dance to his tune, yet it was far away from her to ignore it, if she wished. Perhaps, the card is telling you whatever is calling your attention, you are able to resist it, if you desired it.

    Hope this helps,
    Nikole
