Do you find yourself thinking am I on the right path? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing?
The answer is YES, even if it doesn’t really seem like it. Many people believe that if you are unhappy and struggling that it means that you have veered off your path, but that is not always true.
Making the “wrong” choices, messing up and facing challenges is all part of your path – and so is being blissful and enjoying life. So don’t feel that you are failing at life just because some days are totally shitty.
But am I doing enough?I hear you asking. Yes you are, so just relax! Part of your path or purpose is to simply live your life in accordance with your beliefs and values, even if they differ from those around you. If you are doing this, you’re ahead of the game!
Here I am breaking in my newest Angel card deck – the Indigo Angel Oracle Cards. I like this deck a lot – mainly because there isn’t too much writing and all the cards have a lovely, peaceful feel 🙂
Today’s card is Freedom, from the Life Purpose Oracle Cards. The message is “you’re free to do what you choose.” Sometimes you forget this, but today its time to remember!
You have unlimited options at your fingertips. Some days this is obvious, but other times you may feel limited or stuck. Any limitations are self imposed and only an illusion – even though they may feel very real for you.
Today is about embracing the fact that you really do create your own reality and you are free to shape your life the way you choose. Spend time today consciously manifesting – write down what you want to welcome into your life, what you are ready to release and what direction you would like to move in.

The other day I was perusing a Tarot forum and I came across a lot of negative comments regarding Angel Cards and Oracle decks that are totally positive and uplifting.
The problem that many of the forum commenters had was that all-positive decks do not accurately reflect the reality of life, which is a balance of light and dark.
To quote one commenter: “I’m not into the totally light and fluffy stuff. Life is both darkness and light–both are useful and both have their places. Denying one or the other is cutting oneself off from a whole realm of human existence.”
Another commenter was a bit harsher – unfortunately I couldn’t find the original quote, as the comment thread for this topic was huge – but he thought that Angel Cards appeal to people who don’t want to think and that these types of decks were dumbing people down.
While I LOVE gentle and uplifting decks with Angels and Fairies and cheery phrases, I thought these commenters had an interesting point.
Personally, I have quite a range of Tarot decks in my collection, although I have noticed I tend to gravitate toward the more uplifting decks, like the Crystal Visions Tarot.
Since I read with both “edgy” Tarot cards and Angel Oracle cards, I can honestly say that I don’t really find one to be superior to the other when it comes to getting insight and guidance. But I prefer the happy, sunshiny decks.
I do think that reading Oracle cards that have a full message written right on the card is way easier than reading Tarot cards that may just have a number and picture. But you know what? Who cares? There is enough things in life that are hard, doing readings doesn’t have to be struggle.

I think people are attracted to all-positive decks like Fairy Oracle cards and Angel Tarot because there is enough disturbing shit in the world and people don’t necessarily want to feel disturbed when they turn over The Devil or Ten of Swords. And that’s okay!
Studying Tarot is wonderful if you want a challenge and there is real value in understanding the “scary” Tarot cards, simply because once you shine a light on them they are no longer scary (a topic for another blog post!). But if simply getting higher guidance and comfort is what you want, Angel cards do the job amazingly well.
Tarot and Oracle cards are simply cards with pictures and words on them. They are designed to trigger our intuition, imagination and creativity. Go with the method that works best for you.

I get such a magical feeling from this card today and I sense that today’s message is about connecting with our higher selves so we can access that deep, strong place within that knows we are always safe, no matter what. We have the inner resources to communicate lovingly with others, while maintaining strong boundaries.
The angel in this card seems to be telling us that forgiveness does not mean weakness. When we forgive another’s behavior, we are able to let go of any resentments that are blocking us from blossoming into our highest potential. Letting something go doesn’t mean that you are letting someone walk all over you.
Focus not on how others are behaving but on what you can do in this situation that would be most loving and compassionate to yourself. You don’t need to be intimdated by anyone’s domineering behaviour today (or any day for that matter!).
